More information about Domaine Leipp-Leininger Premier Acte Pinot Gris Maceration 2021
Domaine Leipp-Leininger is located in Barr and is currently undergoing a generational change. This Pinot Gris with a long maceration period is a clear indication that the signature of this winery promises to become more modern and experimental. The wine is not filtered and only a minimal amount of sulphur is added.
The Premier Acte can be described as a light natural wine. In the glass, a light amber color with orange reflections, spicy and balsamic notes flow towards you. On the palate, the pleasant acidity comes to the fore, but the spiciness and herbaceousness of the Pinot Gris maceration is immediately apparent. The restrained fruit aromas are of stone fruit and some grapefruit. The wine is very well balanced and has an impressive length.
Two noses for wine definitely recommend the Premier Acte as a food companion. This starts with a slice of roasted foie gras with a little pear chutney and goes better with a tarte flambée with Munster cheese. It becomes classic with a baeckeoffe or an Irish stew.
