The Fairview Winemaker's Selection Caldera presents itself in a beautiful red color in the glass and smells wonderfully of blackberries and plums. Notes of pepper and lavender lend the cuvée of Grenache Noir (55%), Shiraz (25%) and Mourvèdre (20%) a spicy component. On the palate, the red wine is pleasantly fresh and also shows its fruity and spicy side. Above all, aromas of red cherries and a hint of black pepper are noticeable. This makes the Fairview Winemaker's Selection Caldera an excellent accompaniment to spicy dishes. The red wine, which has matured for sixteen months in French oak, is also a pleasure on its own.
