The name of the mezcal lives up to its promise: it is fruity and modern and fresh. For mezcal beginners, who often find the smoky note and the somewhat "unwieldy depth" of some professional mezcals too strong, this ensemble of 70% espadin and 30% Madrechuishe agave is the ideal mezcal.
What is so special about this "Fruto del Sol" mezcal?
Most mezcals here in Europe are made 100% from the semi-cultivated agave variety Espadin / Angustifolia. Their flavor profile is therefore often very "similar". Ensamble mezcals made from the Espadin and Madrecuishe agave varieties, on the other hand, are rare. And that is precisely what makes this Fruto del Sol so special. The 30% Madrecuishe agave content adds the fruity icing on the cake to this mezcal.
Aroma and taste
On the nose, it exudes a clear fruity note with a hint of herbs. The fruity base note continues on the palate and is complemented by subtle smoke, agave and mint. The taste is rounded off with a note of fresh aniseed. The finish is smooth and warming. Of course, this mezcal is best enjoyed neat, but it is also ideal for light cocktails and quick, simple long drinks.
Where does the still relatively unknown brand "Fruto del Sol" come from?
This mezcal is produced in compliance with the legal regulations and under the supervision of the authorities in Ejutla, Oaxaca, Mexico using traditional methods. Mezcal Import Sieghörtner (Casa Del Mezcal) is responsible for the import to Germany. Stefan Sieghörtner is one of the new "young savages" who has discovered his love of agave distillates and has recently started importing mezcal from Mexico to Germany. A clear sign that tequila, mezcal and other agave spirits from Mexico are becoming increasingly popular here in Germany.

Fruto del Sol
Mezcal is an extraordinary and mystical drink that virtually fell from the sky when lightning touched an agave thousands of years ago. The gods guarded their ancient and magical recipe, hiding the extraordinary charm of this heavenly drink from mortals. Hundreds of years had to pass before the recipe was discovered and adopted in different parts of Mexico. Rodolfo Ortíz, native of the town of Ejutla de Crespo, used the technique of mezcal production of that time around 1890, applying it to different types of agave typical of the area. We use the same tradition as Rodolfo Ortíz, which has been forgotten over time, and have been working for 12 years to establish it further. Because we are convinced that the time-honored procedures and traditions brings the best mezcal experience we have tasted in a long time.
