Hope Esperanza Agave: A glass of hope
"Esperanza" is the Spanish word for hope and it really is true: it's not just the sound of the name that made us feel hopeful about Hope Esperanza Agave. The South African Hope Distillery uses Blue Weber agave, imported directly from Mexico, to produce this agave brandy. The fermentation process is particularly gentle and takes around 5 days. After the slow and gentle distillation process, the agave spirit is left to rest for a further 30 days to allow the aromas to develop.
About the Hope Distillery
The Hope Distillery (est. 2014) is the first licensed small-batch distillery in Cape Town, South Africa. "Small batch" means that spirits are only produced in small quantities . And that is precisely the business model of this South African distillery. Their main focus is on gin. However, Lucy Beard and her team also produce vodka, rum and agave spirit. All with a level of care and quality that raises hopes for more first-class spirits, away from booze and cheap plonk.

Die Brennerei strebt stets nach Exzellenz, experimentiert mit neuen Ideen und verfeinert ihre Formeln in maßgeschneiderten Destillierapparaten, die nach den Großmüttern der Gründer benannt sind: Mildred, Mouma, Maude und Mad Mary. Hope Distillery ist stolz darauf, die ersten von der Stadt Kapstadt lizenzierten Destillierapparate zu besitzen, was sie zur ursprünglichen Kleinserienbrennerei der Stadt macht.
