"Vermouth di Torino" is one of the two few protected designations of origin in the world of vermouth. Only vermouth from Piedmont can be called this. Montanaro Vermouth di Torino Rosso falls precisely into this category. The traditional Montanaro distillery has been distilling top-quality schnapps and liqueurs since 1885, which is evident in this herbal vermouth: present citrus notes, bitter orange, myrrh, aloe vera, aniseed - to name just a few. A little Marsala sweet wine is also added, making it a silky-sweet palate-pleaser.

Die Montanaro Distillery hat ihre Wurzeln im Destilliermeister Francesco Trussoni aus Gallo d'Alba, der 1885 den ersten Grappa di Barolo aus einer einzigen Traubensorte kreierte. 1922 übernahmen Mario Montanaro, seine Frau Angela Trussoni und Sohn Giuseppe das Unternehmen, optimierten den Produktionsprozess mit Dampfdestillierkolben. Ende der 2000er verkaufte Giuseppe Montanaro die Brennerei an lokale Geschäftsleute.
