The rich character of the dessert wine made from the Tinta Barocca, Tinta Roritz, Tinta Francesca and Souzao grape varieties is revealed on the palate with every sip. Notes of dark cherries, truffles and tobacco are coated in dark chocolate and provide a unique taste experience. This well-structured dessert wine, matured for five years in French oak, lingers for a long time. It is therefore a culinary highlight on its own, but you can also serve Muratie The Senator Cape Late Bottled Vintage with a cheese platter. The wine is a tribute to Sir Walter Ernest Mortimer Stanford. He lived on Muratie from 1908 to 1911, was an independent member of the Cape Legislative Assembly and campaigned for universal suffrage.
