More information about No 647 German Rose
Even in ancient times, the scent of roses fascinated mankind. The Greeks gave it the title "queen of flowers". And so it is not surprising that human ingenuity, in the form of the Persians, worked on this very raw material until it was possible to condense the steam of boiling rose blossoms by means of an alambic, a copper helmet - the beginning of the age of distillation. The aim here was to obtain an aromatized water, which was used for freshening. Even today, rose essential oil produced from fresh petals and rose absolue extracted from flower buds are among the most valuable perfume raw materials in the world. And so it comes as no surprise that the scents of fresh Bioland blossoms of various varieties from a famous German rose-growing region also hit us with all their force. If only it would be possible to put them into a spirit! And how would it taste? These are the questions that always arise at the beginning of product development. In the case of the rose, the answer was particularly exciting, because during the tastings, one distillate was ahead on the nose, the other on the palate. And so we decided to use both wild roses that have been cultivated here for centuries. The result is a heavenly spirit with a lingering rose scent and flavor accompanied by tea- and honey-like spicy notes that owes its punch to citronellol, geraniol and farnesol combined with rose oxide and 2-phenylethanol. Cocktails will enjoy it as well as desserts and dressings or dishes of Arabic or French cuisine.
