More information about Magoutes Xinomavro

A very interesting and highly enjoyable take on Xinomavro from the Siatista region in Western Macedonia, which is normally known for its sweet, sun-dried wines. The vineyards are located at an elevation of about 900 meters; the grapes are grown using natural methods, though the wine is not certified as such.

The result is a subtle (naturally dry) Xinomavro that is somewhat reminiscent of Pinot Noir. Diamantis Xinomavro has a strikingly intense ruby-red color and a delicate nose. On the palate, it is elegant and well-balanced, with aromas of cherry and a hint of raspberry, along with nuances of black olive and graphite.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, the tannins are silky and soft. Overall, the wine stands out for its excellent length.

Ideal with game, grilled meats, or aged cheeses.

Magoutes Winery
