More information about Purple Haze
Purple Haze appears in a wide variety of contexts Our favorite is the beer of the same name from Abita
Its Purple Haze is a drinkable lager that has been refined with raspberries after filtration A skillful blend of pilsner and wheat malt as well as the Vanguard hop variety underlines the character of the fresh summer fruits and harmonizes wonderfully with their fruity acidity and restrained sweetness A delicate shimmer of raspberry red runs through the beer and arouses anticipation for the first sip The raspberry runs like a red thread through the olfactory and culinary pleasure - sometimes it can even happen, that a hint of raspberry puree clouds the beer in places
Thanks to its refreshing, fruity character, Purple Haze can be combined with a whole range of different dishes We like to drink the raspberry lager with cheese and desserts and have come up with a perfect menu to go with it A light starter is a small salad with purslane, roasted almonds and goat's cheese taler caramelized with honey and thyme, followed by a mountain cheese soufflé with homemade walnut bread and dark onion jam and, to finish, a mature Brie with fruit bread and Dijon mustard and, for the sweet-toothed, a dark chocolate tart with a cocoa base, roasted pine nuts and cream on a bed of freshly picked raspberries
