More information about Schneeeule Irmgard
Irmgard is the latest addition to a whole range of exceptional Berlin wheat beers.
The cool blonde is brewed with ginger and the peel of lemon, orange and pomegranate and was named after Irmgard Keun. The famous writer was one of the countless artists whose existence was threatened under the Third Reich's reign of terror. Her works were considered degenerate and were banned. The author fought against the censorship of art and was on the run for years.
The beer equivalent of the courageous Ms. Keun is a Berliner Weisse with a light 3.0% alcohol content and a very special character. In addition to the unusual ingredients, the Brettanomyces yeast used ensures the refreshing taste and fine effervescence.
Irmgard has a golden-orange appearance and is adorned with a crown of airy, slightly tinted foam. The special ingredients are already noticeable in the aroma: Irmgard exudes a wonderfully fresh aroma of delicate malt, lemon and ginger.
The first sip presents the corresponding flavors and refreshes the tongue with a juicy wave of citrus fruit. Powerfully sour. The ginger contributes a subtle spiciness and zest, while the pomegranate and orange create a floral fruitiness. The tangy citrus notes are clearly the main protagonists in the interplay of aromas.
Irmgard impresses with its tangy character, elegant acidity and refreshing fruit. A success!

Snowy Owl
Berliner Weisse is Ulrike Genz's favorite beer and the reason she started brewing in the first place. As a Berliner, it was and still is her desire to give good, traditional beer back to her hometown. With a lot of heart and craft, she has built up the Schneeeule label and brews wonderfully refreshing beer in a one-woman process and fine creations like Schampus Weiß Vintage, which was created in cooperation with Bayerischer Bahnhof and Freigeist Bierkultur. Snowy Owl Ulrike came up with these unusual names while taking a closer look at the Berliner Weisse: Crowned by white foam, the beer shines in bright light yellow. Yellow and white are also the dominant colors of the snowy owl, yellow eyes on white feathers.
