Snowy owl Flora Sauerbier

In the already exceptional range of the capital city brewery Schneeeule, Flora takes it up a notch. The so-called Flower Sour is not only brewed in Berlin, it also presents an aroma profile of the region around the brewery. What does that mean? Flora tastes like everything that grows and blooms in Berlin Tegel!

For the wonderfully flowery sour beer, a whole lot of flowers were first picked with great care and by hand. Outside the gates of the brewery there is a colorful flora that gives the beer not only its name but also its unique taste. Delicate white elderflowers, exotic-looking jasmine, and the beguilingly fragrant blossoms of roses and black locust trees were used to make flower-flavored beers, which were then married to create Flora. A flowery marriage with a fabulous outcome, Flora is a floral treasure that changes character from year to year thanks to contained microorganisms. Flora was brewed in 2018 and has been unfolding its full potential ever since.

And does it taste good? Yes! Flora is a complex brew dominated by delightful acidity, delicate fruit and infinitely elegant florality. The exotic aroma of tangy citrus is joined by notes of white grapes and a dry aroma of sun-kissed straw. The refreshing acidity runs like a thread through the beer's enjoyment, while a subtle florality skilfully rounds off the interplay of aromas.
