Multi-layered, complex and full of character - just like the namesake and founder of Steenberg, Catharina Ras - the Steenberg Catharina shows itself from the first moment. The seductive scent of cherries, black currants and raspberries is underpinned by lavender, cinnamon and dark chocolate. On the palate, the fruity notes are underpinned by light herbal nuances, spicy tones and a soft texture. The well-structured red wine cuvée of Merlot (51%), Cabernet Sauvignon (36%) and Malbec (13%) matured for 26 months in French oak and is a culinary highlight in itself. However, the wine can also be combined very well with dark meat - lamb in rosemary is particularly recommended - or spicy.
