The Steenberg Five Lives presents itself in the glass in a dark and intense red, which fades into a lighter garnet red at the edge. On the nose, the cuvée of Merlot (62%), Cabernet Sauvignon (22%) and Malbec (16%) delights with wonderful aromas of prunes and blackcurrants, accompanied by cinnamon and fennel. The silky texture and elegant tannins caress the palate, while soft notes of blackberry jam, cherries and star anise provide a varied taste experience. Enjoy this red wine, which has matured for 22 months in small French oak barrels, preferably with spicy or dark meat. The Steenberg Five Lives commemorates Catharina Ras, the founder of the winery. The life of this adventurous and courageous woman can be divided into five chapters, each of which tells a new chapter in the life of Catharina Ras. The different chapters can also be read individually on the labels of the wine bottles.
