More information about Stone Brewing Ruination IPA
This beer is a hop fest of the first order. To bring out all the facets of hops, the brewers at Stone Brewing have created this hoppy masterpiece.
The West Coast Style Double IPA is bold and powerful: Six different, highly aromatic hop varieties are in the beer, giving it its hop power. Simcoe, Magnum, Citra, Centennial, Chinook and Azacca shape the complex character and provide a cornucopia of hoppy flavors.
Ruination flows into the glass in an almost clear amber hue. The golden liquid has a reddish copper tint and is topped with a firm, lightly tinted foam. An incredibly enticing hop symphony rises from the creamy fluff. The nose combines everything that can be found in hops: Pine resin, manifold citrus notes, tropical fruit and floral hop blossom. Extremely promising! And the initial drink doesn't disappoint. The hops literally explode on the tongue, delivering fruit, bitterness and freshness all at once. Grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple and mango caress the palate with fresh sweetness, notes of pine resin add spice and structure to the fruit cocktail. A slowly increasing bitterness leads into a crisp bitter, delicious and gently dry finish. A feast!
Stone Brewing's West Coast Double IPA Ruination is a terrific IPA without equal!

Steve and Greg had planned a revolution: Their goal was to free America from the shackles of industrially brewed mass-produced beers - To move away from standard beers and turn to beery works of art from creative minds and bold craft brewers. In 1996, the time had come and the first keg of Stone Brewing's own production was sold. With this step, the two brewers are not only considered legends in the craft beer scene, but...
