At Vitelium, everything comes from a single source: the olives for our fresh, golden-green extra virgin olive oil come from our own groves in the Molise region, are only harvested by hand (early harvest) and are naturally cold-pressed. This is the only way we can guarantee sustainability and quality from cultivation to production and packaging.
The olives for our medium fruity Frentanum grow in the fertile valley of the river Biferno near the town of Larino - the ancient capital of the Frentani and other indigenous peoples of southern Italy. A unique olive variety is still at home here today: Gentile di Larino. It gives the oil its wonderfully fresh aroma of green olives, a bitterness on the palate and a peppery spiciness on the finish. The finish is full of grassy aromas and deliciously fruity artichoke notes. A delight for any fan of strong green olive oils from southern Italy!
