Alto M.P.H.S. is the best wine the winery has to offer and at the same time a tribute to Alto's former winemakers, whose initials form the name of the blend of Cabernet Franc (50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (50%). The red wine is produced only in particularly good vintages and is limited to 2246 bottles in this vintage. Already in the glass, the Alto M.P.H.S. impresses with its dark color and smells wonderfully of dark and red fruits. Well-integrated spicy aromas add the final touch to the bouquet. On the palate, the powerful and elegant red wine, aged for 24 months in French oak, impresses with its well-balanced structure and its great fruit notes. Therefore, the Alto M.P.H.S. is a culinary highlight on its own, but it also perfectly accompanies dishes with dark meat and mushrooms or pasta.

ALTO Wine Estate
Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
