More information about Alto M.P.H.S. 2015
The Alto M.P.H.S. is the best wine the winery has to offer and at the same time a tribute to Alto's former winemakers, whose initials form the name of the cuvée of Cabernet Franc (50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (50%). The red wine is only produced in particularly good vintages and is limited to 2246 bottles in this vintage. The Alto M.P.H.S. already impresses in the glass with its dark color and smells wonderfully of dark and red fruits. Well-integrated spice aromas add the finishing touch to the bouquet. On the palate, this powerful and elegant red wine, which has matured for 24 months in French oak, impresses with its well-balanced structure and great fruity notes. The Alto M.P.H.S. is therefore a culinary highlight on its own, but is also an excellent accompaniment to dishes with dark meat and mushrooms or pasta.

ALTO Wine Estate
Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
