More information about Brewery Faust Kräusen
Kräusen is a term from the vocabulary of brewing. It describes the beer wort at a certain point in the main fermentation. In this phase, the wort foams and forms an impressive head thanks to the carbon dioxide produced. There are different stages of crimping and it is assumed that the origin of the term goes back to the appearance of the foam: due to the many large bubbles, it looks like curly, frizzy hair. However, the term Kräusen is also used for a type of beer: After the beer has finished fermenting, fresh green beer is added to it. This is still in the fermentation process and gives the already fermented beer a little kick and extra carbon dioxide.
Brauhaus Faust also brews a Kräusenbier like this. Their version is wonderfully naturally cloudy and comes in swing-top bottles. A fine honey aroma rises from the golden splendor and acts as a harbinger for the full-bodied and malty taste. Kräusen is a mild and fresh beer that delivers a beautiful balance of flowery hops and soft malt. The well-balanced barley juice goes perfectly with hearty meat dishes or grilled food. Meat, fish, cheese or vegetables with a smoky note and hearty aroma elicit the beer's delicate sweetness and playful hop nuances. The gentle bitterness rounds off the enjoyment harmoniously.

Fortunately, the Faust family does not take its motto "Faust. That stays between us" is not taken quite so seriously. Otherwise, only the people of Miltenberg could benefit from the fine beer from the Faust brewery. Close to home The region is close to the Faust family's heart. This is reflected not only in their great commitment to local associations, Franconian culture and social institutions in the region. The ingredients for the first-class beer also come from Franconian farmers and suppliers. The traditional brewery in Miltenberg has now existed for more than 360 years, more than 100 of which were owned by the Faust family. With great love for its homeland, Brauhaus Faust is dedicated to protecting the environment; as recently as 2014, the family received the climate protection award from the Bund Naturschutz (Nature Conservation Union) for its important work.
