More information about D.D.H. Double Dry Elderflower
We're popping the corks, because the exceptional breweries Freigeist Bierkultur, Schneeeule and Bayerischer Bahnhof are launching a very special beer specialty!
D.D.H. usually stands for "Double Dry Hopped". In this case, however, D.D.H. abbreviates the title Double Dry Elderflower. The fine drop comes in stylish champagne bottles and, like the fine sparkling wine, is sealed with a cork.
The large bottle contains an exquisite Berliner Weisse that has been fermented with Brettanomyces cultures and stored for several years after completion of the brewing process. Elderflower was added to the beer at various stages of maturation. The result is a fabulous beer with a lively character, full-bodied depth and great elderberry notes.
The Berliner Weisse created in collaboration flows into the glass in a warm golden hue and smells like a whole elderberry bush. The sweet, delicately spicy scent of elderflowers mingles in the nose with a hint of lemon, which brings zest and acidity into play.
The attack reveals a complex body with a silky mouthfeel and a spectacular balance of sweetness and fruity acidity. Elderberry is the most dominant note, with subtle nuances of white grapes, some yeast and creamy yoghurt. The finish is dry, tart and lingers on the tongue for a long time with an aftertaste of elderflower.

Snowy Owl Ulrike came up with these unusual names while taking a closer look at the Berliner Weisse: Crowned by white foam, the beer shines in bright light yellow. Yellow and white are also the dominant colors of the snowy owl, yellow eyes on white feathers. Ulrike also liked the three consecutive E's in the name, an eye-catcher, just like the monochrome labels with the large owl spreading its wings. Extraordinary is the name of...
