More information about mettermalt® Barrel Aged Gin
The mettermalt® BARREL AGED gin is based on the classic mettermalt gin, which consists of a proprietary blend of herbs from the fesslermill1396 distillery, which was distilled slowly over several trays in the still together with the natural Sersheim water from the local alwa spring.
The gin then matured for 12 months in a fresh chestnut barrel and was released in a limited edition of 189 bottles to celebrate the inauguration of the new Whisky Warehouse. A natural barrel color and an alcohol content at cask strength round off this specialty.
Each gin is neatly bottled and labeled by hand. Pure craftsmanship to create a top-class product. The mettermalt® gin meets the highest quality standards and is therefore a distilled London Dry Gin. A German gin made in Germany, produced in an environmentally friendly way using our own hydropower.
Taste profile: Typical gin juniper note with fine aromas from the chestnut barrel and a light citrus aroma from the basic recipe.

For many generations, the millers of the Fessler Mill have been involved in agriculture and the cultivation of grain as well as its refinement. Orchard meadows and the cultivation of berries, fruits or special crops such as elderberry have a long tradition. Even the grandfathers had their own fruit processed into fine distillates or produced excellent apple and pear cider in the cellar of the Fessler Mill. For 50 years, the master millers of the Fessler Mill themselves and selected farmers of the region have been cultivating and processing special and distinctive types of grain such as Bauerländer Spelz, oats, rye or spelt.
