More information about Paserene The Shiner Red n/v
Paserene The Shiner Red pours into the glass in a dark red. The bouquet unfolds wonderful aromas of blackcurrants, chocolate and espresso. Smoky tones provide the finishing touch. Spicy nuances of black pepper and a pleasant oak note are well integrated on the palate. The rich cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%), Petit Verdot (48%) and Carménère (4%) matures for 24 months in oak and is a wonderful accompaniment to beef goulash or a hearty lamb shank. But Paserene The Shiner Red is also a treat on its own. A spray-painted boxer can be seen on the label - when winemaker Martin Smith created the white counterpart called The Shiner, he could not afford paper labels and sprayed the label onto the bottle. In the USA, a wine without a label is called a "shiner". However, there is a second meaning: a shiner is also used to describe a black eye after a punch, which is why a boxer is depicted on the label.
