More information about Springfield Thunderchild 2021
The Springfield Thunderchild is a soft red wine made from Cabernet Franc (34%), Cabernet Sauvignon (33%) and Merlot (33%), which impresses with its fruity aromas of dark plums, cherries and blackcurrants. As the red wine matures for twelve months in French oak, nuances of spices and leather are added. The wine is best enjoyed with pasta or savory dishes. The Springfield Thunderchild is a special wine: in 1918, the orphanage "Die Hederberg" was built in Robertson after a major influenza epidemic. In 2003, a five-hectare vineyard was planted on the grounds of the orphanage, which supplies the grapes for Springfield Thunderchild. The proceeds from the wine are donated to the children of the orphanage.
