In a bright red, the Alto Shiraz shimmers in the glass and exudes a wonderful floral aroma with undertones of violets and spices. On the palate, the red wine, aged for eighteen months in French oak, scores with its balanced character and great fruit notes accompanied by a good tannic structure. Enjoy the Alto Shiraz best with Mediterranean dishes, lamb or grilled meat. But also pure, the red wine is always a treat for the palate.

ALTO Wine Estate
Alto is a farm with a rich history that lives up to its status as one of the most iconic wineries in the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was not until 1919 that the farm was fully dedicated to viticulture. Alto stretches along the steep northern slopes of the Helderberg and for nearly a century has built a reputation as one of the most respected red wine producers in South Africa.
