With Fred, we have returned to the Franconian roots of craft brewing and have finally turned a long-held dream into reality.
Inspired by the classic Franconian bottom-fermented red beers with their malty, sweet character, we set out to create our interpretation of a red beer: our Freiburg Red Lager.
Due to the Franconian influence, it is hardly surprising that the taste of our Fred is also significantly influenced by the malts used. Among other things, it owes its full-bodied taste and creamy, slightly sweet aromas to these.
Of course, our "Neigschmeckter" doesn't want to deny its Franconian roots. And why should it? After all, they are what give it its wonderfully tasty, malty and spicy base.
But even if Fred has not forgotten his origins, he has been at home in South Baden long enough to incorporate the Baden joie de vivre into his taste profile. This finds its expression in fresh, fruity aromas, light peppery notes and a subtly tart finish. This gives Fred its own unmistakable character.
All we can say is: it's best to try it for yourself. Because we think so. Fred is a combination that makes you want more.
