Bärwurz, Böhmischer Wind, Höllensteiner and Latschenwacholder were the Liebls' first own products in 1970. By then, the family had built up a wine and spirits wholesale business from a small grocery store in Bad Kötzting in the Bavarian Forest.
As you can see: The juniper tradition in the Liebl family runs deep. We wanted to pick up on this in our first collaboration with Gerhard Liebl for the Freimeisterkollektiv. DOPPELWACHOLDER 052 is a straightforward and complex spirit in which Gerhard Liebl, one of Germany's most highly decorated distillers, makes full use of his skills.
By using fresh juniper berries, the tart and resinous notes of juniper do not dominate - as is generally the case - but rather fresh citrus notes, fine sweetness and subtle, floral aromas.
This makes the DOPPELWACHOLDER 052 suitable for pure enjoyment as well as an ingredient in classic, strong gin cocktails.
