The Speckbirne is a cider pear from the Austrian Mostviertel region, which gets its name from the shine of its skin. While the must obtained from it is very mild, its alcohol content is among the highest of all cider pears.
Organic distiller Josef Farthofer bases his SPECKBIRNE 302 on Pineau de Charentes and stops the fermentation of his pear cider by adding pear brandy, which he also produces himself. In this way, the natural sweetness is retained and no sugar is added.
SPECKBIRNE 302 can be enjoyed as an aperitif or is a perfect accompaniment to strong cheeses.
