WODKA SANGASTE 800 - Organic winter rye vodka

Hardly any other spirit is as synonymous with soulless industrial goods as vodka. At the same time, it is precisely this category of spirit that has the greatest potential to reinvent itself. With WODKA SANGASTE 800 made from Sangaste winter rye, the Freimeisterkollektiv pays tribute to the spirits tradition of the so-called vodka belt. A mild vodka with character and identity is distilled from the best, organically grown winter rye.

Master distiller Sven Ivanov distils and fractionates with the utmost precision in one of the oldest vodka distilleries in the world, so that subsequent filtration is not necessary. Subtle flavor notes reveal the delicate aromas of the ingredients. Clarity and purity are also achieved through the precise separation of fusel oils, pre- and post-distillation and extremely delayed rectification.

There is a popular anecdote that the famous Russian chemist and father of the periodic table still used today, Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev, determined the 40% drinking strength for vodka. As nice as the story sounds, the drinking strength of vodka was already set at 40% vol. in Russia when Mendeleev was still a child.

In Estonia, however, people continued to drink vodka at 50% vol. We are happy to follow this Estonian tradition with our WODKA SANGASTE 800, as the extremely mild character of this vodka allows it to be enjoyed at room temperature and at a high strength.
