More information about Lagoalva Reserva
Together with the famous oenologist Rui Reguingo and the youngest scion of the owner family, Diogo de Braganza Camphilo, this cuvée was created from the best grapes of the Quinta. The wine was aged for 12 months in French oak before being bottled in mid-September 2010. It has a very discreet aroma, still somewhat closed, showing whole delicate cherry and plum aromas, but also herbs and the wood is very restrained. In the mouth it seems very delicate, elegant. It has enough acidity and fruit, is very well structured with fine-grained tannins. A wine full of character with bite that will certainly appeal more to connoisseurs.
The Tagus region is considered the agricultural heart of Portugal. A mild climate, sufficient rainfall and an extensive irrigation system supplied by the Tagus River are characteristic of the area. A few ambitious winemakers have cultivated good vineyards in the barren hinterland, away from the fertile Tagus River, and produce mostly local varieties, but also international ones such as Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah.

The successful breeding of Lusitano horses, started in 1909 by the Duke of Palmela, is continued by his direct descendants, the Manoel Holstein Campilho family, which owns the estate of 5000 ha along the Tagus River.
