More information about Maennerhobby hazelnut spirit
At first, we weren't sure whether we needed another hazelnut spirit.
And it's not easy to be regional with the old nut - if anyone wants to supply us with one, let's have it!
We use Byzantine hazelnuts for our spirit. We have them roasted by Grubenbäckerei Rostock: longer than usual, so that the aromas are more intense. We also tried to cram a few more nuts into the still. Cleaning up afterwards was no fun... to be honest, it was quite a mess. And it always is.
But it's the result that counts. Our hazelnut spirit won the silver medal at the 2018 Destillata.
