You can't make much more effort than for blackthorn, this wild plum.
Variable yields, prickly bushes, harvest only after the first frost, the tannins. We prepare the collected sloes - from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, by the way - and macerate them in grain alcohol. We add rock candy, Madagascar vanilla and juice, which we boil out of the sloes. Wonderfully mild and fruity.
