More information about Maennerhobby sea buckthorn liqueur natural
"Genuinely Mecklenburg!" - not quite true, but what is true: The liqueur tastes great!
The problem with sea buckthorn is that when it is heated, it develops its typical musty taste. That's why we juice the sea buckthorn berries cold. The extract is also cold. It's a lot of work. In the natural version, we left the pulp in the liqueur. Sometimes it looks like shit, but it tastes really good! Really tangy, fruity and full of fruit!
It is sometimes said that we Mecklenburgers practically invented sea buckthorn. Or you could get the feeling that we did, as the shelves of local tourist stores are often full of it. The truth is: sea buckthorn is a colonizer of barren and/or dry areas. Just like on the Baltic Sea beach, so to speak ;-) We get our sea buckthorn from our favorite grower in Satow. The name MÆNNERHOBBY was chosen relatively quickly - what else should a small distillery in the village where Martin distills good schnapps be called? At that time, no one knew how big the whole thing would become. Martin didn't have any real prior knowledge, but that wasn't a problem either. In our digital age, you can always help yourself. Of...
