More information about Maennerhobby cornelian cherry liqueur
A rare fruit. Also known as Dirndl.
A beautiful sight! We got our hands on it. The liqueur was created in collaboration with the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Research Institute. Various types of fruit and vegetables are grown there that are not yet at home here. Cornelian cherries are harvested when they are fully ripe, almost overripe. We macerated some of the fruit and juiced the others. The aroma is similar to cherries, with a hint of marzipan.
The Kornelkische - attention #spoiler - is not a cherry at all. It is a so-called "dogwood" - the fruits only look like cherries and also have an elongated stone. But the aroma is actually similar to a cherry - although maybe that's just from the name? Either way: fruity & delicious!

Together with his wife Katharina, Martin sat down to plan the future project. The name MÆNNERHOBBY was chosen relatively quickly - what else should a small distillery in the village where Martin distills good schnapps be called? At that time, no one knew how big the whole thing would become. Martin didn't have any real prior knowledge, but that wasn't a problem either. In our digital age, you can always help yourself. Of...
