More information about Marge's blueberry fruit spread
I always wonder how such a small fruit can contain so much flavor. Even though picking bickberries (North German for blueberries) has gone a bit out of fashion these days, I didn't want to miss out on these wonderful fruits and, due to time constraints, I like to use cultivated varieties. They are wonderful for making spreads. My blueberries come fresh from the Altes Land, the largest regional fruit-growing area near Hamburg.
Taste
The taste of blueberries is very fruity and sweet and sour. The fresh vanilla aroma always fascinates me. Both the flesh and the skin are black-blue. When eating these little delicacies, my lips, tongue and teeth regularly turn blue. Many of us are probably familiar with this phenomenon from our childhood days.
Served:
My blueberry fruit spread is perfect for quark dishes, muesli and compote. But it also tastes great on vanilla ice cream. When things need to go quickly: Cakes can be refined quickly and easily with this berry spread.
