More information about Marge's woodruff syrup
Woodruff has a special taste. When I brought woodruff leaves home for the first time, my daughter was very surprised. She only knew the classic sherbet powder from the packet. I made a fresh brew from the leaves, which I refined with sugar and lemon juice. We were thrilled. My daughter insisted that we always have this syrup now. And that's how it is now. Woodruff syrup made from home-picked leaves. By the way, woodruff syrup is only green if you color it artificially. And of course I don't do that.
Taste
Woodruff smells and tastes intensely sweet and has an almost artificial but delicious flavor.
Served:
Specialties such as woodruff ice cream or Berliner Weisse are well known. But we also like to mix the syrup with sparkling wine on ice.
