Sloe gin - tart, sweet and pretty too.
We like to take you with us on our travels, because what could be cooler than an awesome drink with an exclusive taste and history to boot. Well over 300 years ago, farmers typically fenced in their land with hedges. Sloe hedges were usually chosen for this purpose. As sloe berries were not particularly edible, they made a virtue out of necessity, as they wanted to make use of the fruit. So the berries were put into gin - hence the name sloe gin - which is actually a liqueur. As a "poor man's drink", it was mainly drunk in the winter months, usually warm.
Let's fast forward a little. In the 19th century, sloe gin became increasingly popular. Today, bartenders all over the world are experimenting with this special liqueur and the range of cocktails is constantly growing. So what kind of men would we be if we deprived you of this taste experience? So we set to work with great motivation and created an outstanding original for you - sloe berries, aromatic gin, a hint of sweetness - and the Sloe Gin is ready. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, or let yourself be inspired by the endlessly delicious sloe gin cocktails of this world.

Martin Neumann had the idea to distill high-quality and regional spirits. He wanted to create something unique and different from what already existed. Although he did not yet know exactly where the journey should go, one thing was certain: the region needs great spirits and he wanted to follow this call. Together with his wife Katharina, Martin sat down to plan the future project. The name MÆNNERHOBBY was chosen relatively quickly - what else should a small distillery in the village where Martin distills good schnapps be called? At that time, no one knew how big the whole thing would become. Martin didn't have any real prior knowledge, but that wasn't a problem either. In our digital age, you can always help yourself. Of...
