More information about Carpe Noctem Barrel Aged Tawny Port
With our Carpe Noctem Barrel Aged Tawny Port, we reached very deep into the flavor box.
The base beer was a powerful dark Barley Wine with wonderful cherry and strong chocolate flavors. This beer was aged for 1 year in pre-aged Tawny Port wine barrels. During this time, a beguilingly fruity and complex aroma developed, with a fruit sweetness typical of Portuguese wine, which underscores the Barley Wine's bittersweet chocolate notes. On the finish, a fruity sweetness with strong dried fruit notes flatters the palate.
The brother beer of the Carpe Noctem Barrel Aged Tawny Port is the Carpe Noctem Barrel Aged Laphroaig Ardbeg 2022.

This equalization of taste not only leads to beers from different brands becoming more and more similar and tasting almost the same. It has even gone so far that different styles of beer from industrial breweries taste the same and differ only on the label. The trend toward neutral one-size-fits-all beer and neutral one-size-fits-all taste. In times of such tightrope walks along the purity law on the part...
