Mexican culture is characterized by exuberant colors, lively music and delicious food, and there is one day of the year when all of this is combined into one exuberant celebration.
Although Día de los Muertos is dedicated to the dead, and Europeans are used to a more reverent and civilized approach to such things, this is not at all the case for the spirited Mexicans: instead of mourning the death of their friends and relatives with tears and muted colors, they celebrate the splendid life the person led before their death.
Día de los Muertos is traditionally celebrated with the whole family. Colorful altars with bright orange tagetes and fruits are set up, graves are decorated and there is dancing in the streets. The skull is a symbol of this day and adorns garlands, sweets and people's faces.
A stylized skull in bright colors also adorns Buenaveza, a Mexican-inspired Salt and Lime Lager from Stone. Brewed with lime and a hint of sea salt, the refreshing lager is a perfect match for the spicy, hot and flavorful cuisine of Mexico.
