This fine drop from Hofstetten is named after an old grain variety: Heines Haisa is a traditional barley variety that was cultivated in Austria centuries ago The brewery from the Mühlviertel region received different varieties of malting barley in 2009 and cultivated them in collaboration with the Schlägl Organic Competence Center and its organic farmers

After all this preparation, the Old Lager is now brewed with Heines Haisa barley in the brewery's historic brewhouse The taste of this fine brew is based on the bread beer that was drunk everywhere in post-war Austria A scent of freshly harvested cucumbers rises from the delicately cloudy gold, the first sip reveals a composition reminiscent of toasted bread with butter, fragrant straw and sun-drenched grain
