More information about Muratie Alberta Annemarie Merlot 2018
With the inviting aroma of dark cherries and ripe plums, the Muratie Alberta Annemarie Merlot pampers the senses of the connoisseur. Spicy aromas such as roasted hazelnuts, cocoa or cinnamon, which the red wine owes to its sixteen months of aging in French oak, are added over time. The rich and sweet components are perfectly balanced by a fresh acidity and a slight herbal note. Therefore, the soft and accessible Muratie Alberta Annemarie Merlot is enjoyable on its own, but it also accompanies quite wonderfully spicy dishes, dark meat or pasta. Incidentally, the red wine is a tribute to one of the first female winery owners on the Cape: Alberta Annemarie discovered the estate during a horseback ride with her father, the artist George Paul Canitz. He bought Muratie and bequeathed it to his daughter Alberta Annemarie after his death.
