The Vivanco family began cultivating highland agaves during Mexico's turbulent post-revolutionary period from 1919 to 1929. In Don Feliciano Vivanco's home town of Arandas, Jalisco, subsequent generations of Vivancos dedicated themselves to expanding the family's own agave plantations.
In 1994, the family's dream of owning their own distillery finally came true with the purchase of Destilería El Ranchito. Sergio and José Manuél Vivanco are known for producing rich, well-balanced tequilas. For ArteNOM Selección de 1414, the family brings back their unique and extraordinary tradition of fermenting the agave pulp with wild yeast to achieve an incomparable reflection of the agave terroir.
