This unique mezcal has been produced for eleven generations at the Real de Minas distillery in Santa Catarina Minas. Mina Real Mezcal is made from 100% espadín agave.

Mina Real Mezcal is considered sustainable because the company uses environmentally friendly and resource-conserving practices in the production of the mezcal:

First, production uses only agave grown in the region by local farmers. The company works closely with farmers and helps them convert to organic farming to minimize the use of pesticides and other harmful chemicals.

Second, Mina Real Mezcal relies on a roasting technique that largely eliminates the use of firewood, which is otherwise common. The aromatic agaves are roasted slowly in a brick oven without the usual use of firewood. This saves per roasting process the amount of firewood of a medium sized tree and a lot of CO2 emissions. The crushed agave is then fermented with wild yeasts. Subsequently, the mash is traditionally distilled twice in clay pot stills.

The company is also committed to preserving the local flora and fauna and supports various environmental projects in the Oaxaca region. Packaging is also designed with the environment in mind, relying on sustainable materials and environmentally friendly printing methods.

The result is a bright and elegant flavor with a special minerality and character. The smoky aroma is very subtle and therefore the perfect companion in cocktails. Mina Real Mezcal does not contain any additives.

1/3 strong red vermouth, e.g. Antica Formula
1/3 Campari bitters

Stir thoroughly with plenty of ice and a lemon zest in a mixing glass, pour into a tumbler with ice, decorate with lemon zest or orange zest
