More information about Voyatzi Three Wishes Organic Red Wine Cuvée

Excellent cuveé of the grape variety Xinomavro (65%) - the most important red grape variety of Macedonia - and the international grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon (35%). It also shows that Yiannis Voyatzi studied oenology in Bordeaux. All the wines are pressed in harmony and in tune with the ecosystem of the vineyards, all in organic quality. The rolling hills of the northeast and south-facing vineyards produce an ideal and regionally diverse soil relief.

The interplay of mesoclimate, microclimate and soil is expressed in the wines of the winery and also allows the different grape varieties to be planted in the ideal places for them. All three grape varieties are classically fermented separately, fermentation and malolactic fermentation are followed by cuveting and then aging in oak barrels for twelve months with the wine being moved two or three times. This is followed by six months of aging in bottle.

Tasting: deep garnet red, nose: medium plus in intensity, aromas of red and black fruits (raspberry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, black cherry and sour cherry), tomato, tomato leaf, herbs, spicy notes, secondary aromas: cedar, coffee, earthy notes, some cooked plum, palate: Dry, medium plus acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol and medium plus body, more red fruity on the palate, complemented by aromas of ripe tomato, tobacco, herbs, black olive, long finish, balanced, complex, can be drunk now and has a very good aging potential of at least 7 years.

Drinking temperature: 16 - 18 °C

Our recommendation: we love this excellent cuvée from Voyatzi: complex and balanced, exciting and with depth, intensity and aging potential.

Goes well with: barbecue, beef, lamb, pork, grilled or charcoal-grilled chicken, grilled sausage, roast game, roast duck, goose and chicken in intense sauce, meatballs (possibly also in intense dark sauce) mashed potatoes or pasta with truffles, vegetables from the oven, beetroot, okra in tomato sauce, sausage, intense hard and soft cheeses.

Ktima Voyatzi
