More information about Voyatzi Tsapournakos organic red wine

An elegant, extremely complex top-quality red wine made from the red Tsapournakos grape variety - the Greek offshoot of Cabernet Franc. Organically vinified in harmony with the vineyard ecosystem. The gentle hills of the north-east and south-facing vineyards produce an ideal and regionally diverse soil relief.

The different interplay of mesoclimate, microclimate and soil is reflected in the estate's wines and also enables the different grape varieties to be planted in the most suitable locations. Careful, long pre-fermentation extraction together with the solid grape components (the duration depends on the ripeness of the grapes) is followed by fermentation in steel tanks. The young wine is then matured for twelve months in oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. After bottling, the wine continues to mature in the bottle.

Tasting: clear, deep ruby red, on the nose: aromas of black fruits (blackberries, plums, cherries, blueberries, blackcurrants), herbs (thyme), tobacco, black tea, cedar, coffee, stewed plums, moss on the palate: Dry, medium acidity, high tannins, high alcohol and full body, the complex aromas of the nose complemented by hints of chocolate and spices, clove, long finish, great intensity, balanced, incredibly elegant and complex, with very great ageing potential.

Drinking temperature: 16 - 18 °C

Reviews: Bronze Medal, Thessaloniki International Wine Competition 2019

Our recommendation: A truly great, elegant, extract-rich red wine. From the Greek Tsapournakos vine - outstanding and extremely complex, with great depth .... and be sure to stock up on a few bottles!

Goes well with: Itself, steak, beef steak, grilled red meat, roast pork, pork in a spicy, dark sauce, game (roast rabbit/wild boar/venison) in a dark, not too rich sauce, Minced meatballs in a dark sauce, roast goose, duck, chicken and turkey, pasta (Bolognese, Amatriciana), spicy vegetables from the tube/clay pot, tajine, spicy hard and soft cheeses.

Ktima Voyatzi
