The Plaisir Estate Sauvignon Blanc glows a bright lime green in the glass - even the first impression promises freshness. On the nose, the wine reveals aromatic notes of melon, sweet grapefruit and ripe Cape gooseberries - an aroma reminiscent of a cool summer's day.
"On the palate, the Sauvignon Blanc impresses with tropical fruit notes, elegant texture and a crisp, fresh finish. The partly tank-fermented, partly barrel-fermented batches lend the wine a fine complexity and supple structure. Three months on the lees provide additional smoothness and depth.
A versatile food companion that goes particularly well with grilled trout with lemongrass, creamy salmon pasta with spinach and capers or roasted chicken with rice salad. Also a delight on its own - fresh, balanced and full of character.
