More information about Snowy Owl Dietrich Vintage Weisse
Although it may not seem so at first, this specialty beer is named after a famous Berlin beauty. The actress and singer was known for her beguiling appearance and seductive voice.
Dietrich, on the other hand, is a Berliner Weisse from Schneeeule and charms with heavenly taste and wonderful refreshment. The base of Dietrich is Marlene. It sounds like a pun, but it is: The original Berliner Weisse Marlene becomes Dietrich through storage. The fine Weisse Marlene is bottled after completion and is then allowed to continue fermenting in the bottles for the duration of a whole year. Special yeasts and lactic acid bacteria perform their miraculous work during this time and give the beer its sparkling, feather-light character.
Dietrich presents itself in a sunny straw yellow and shimmers wonderfully golden when the light hits it. A crown of light, airy foam sits atop the cloudy beer, and it exudes a delicate aroma of creamy banana milkshake, light wine vinegar and delicate elderflower. The initial drink reveals Dietrich's light-footed body. The sparkling carbonation allows the flavors to dance on the tongue, delighting the palate with notes of ripe mirabelle plums, tart natural yogurt, white grapes, tangy lime and floral hops. The Berliner Weisse has a smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel, and the sour, finely pearly finish lingers on the tongue for a long time and definitely leaves you wanting more.
