Tequila ArteNOM 1146 Añejo

The Seleccion Artenom presents a selection of the best tequilas from regionally important distilleries.

The tequilas from the cultivation areas in the Jalisco region captivate with their partly centuries-old tradition, the individual taste of specially cultivated agaves from different locations and the characteristic distillation technique of the distilleries. The exclusively selected tequilas represent the unique, personal craft of the Master Distiller: Thus, their NAME really becomes an ART!

At the Tequileña distillery in the eponymous town of Tequila, Jalisco, home to a number of acclaimed tequilas, Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca distills agave grown mostly around his hometown of Atotonilco el Alto in the highlands. For this añejo tequila, Enrique ages selected tequilas for at least 14 months in used Cabernet wine barrels from the Loire Valley in France.

The tequila is then placed for another 14 months in toasted American white oak barrels that previously held either Canadian or Tennessee rye whiskey.

Through this aging, Enrique achieves the truly masterful balance between oak and agave flavors.

TEQUILA ARTENOM SELECCIÓN 1146 was awarded gold by the Beverage Institute in 2013.
