More information about AboutQuell Julebryg
Julebryg Dag is to the Danes what the Bockbier tapping is to the Franconians. Every year on the evening of the first Friday in November, the Christmas beer is tapped in Denmark and the festive season is ushered in.
To celebrate their shared past, the brewers from the Hamburg brewery ÜberQuell and the exceptional Danish brewer Anders Coisbo from The Man Behind have teamed up to do what they do best. A few years ago, this wonderful collaboration resulted in the first joint work: Julebryg is a spicy Christmas beer brewed with lots of love and exceptional ingredients.
In 2020, the collaboration was somewhat more complicated due to current world events, but the brewers did not let this stop them and produced a delicious Julebryg as usual.
The dream child of Danish-German parents flows into the glass in a magnificent copper hue and is adorned with a small crown of creamy, slightly tinted foam. A seductive aroma rises from the fleeting head, creating a festive atmosphere. The first sip reveals a spiced lager that absolutely deserves its name: velvety-soft notes of speculoos, candied orange peel and sweet malt caress the palate, while a whole range of Christmas spices give the beer its festive kick. We taste cinnamon, aniseed and cardamom - a combination that immediately puts you in the festive mood.

With handmade beer from real people for real people, pizza from the stone oven and a lot of heart and soul, the makers have been attracting countless beer fans ever since. A matter of the heart Even though the guys from St. Pauli have a reputation for being tough guys, there's one thing you can't write off from them: Passion. And that's what makes ÜberQuell a true highlight in Hamburg's culinary landscape. Axel Ohm and Patrick Rüther are the brilliant minds behind the project and the people who conceived and set up the microbrewery...
