For the middle of the week, after the feather-light Tuesday, it can be a bit stronger: Wednesday is a Bavarian wheat brewed with traditional craftsmanship and a modern, minimalist recipe. Four hop varieties are in the wheat beer, providing a modern twist that beautifully complements the classic wheat notes.
The unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer flows into the glass in a powerful golden hue and carries a crown of snow-white, fine-pored foam on the naturally cloudy body. When poured, an enticing aroma of exotic vanilla, strong spices and creamy banana rises to the nose. On the palate, the wheat is wonderfully creamy with a velvety smooth mouthfeel. The fresh, light-bodied beer plays up balanced malt notes as well as a whole host of subtle hop notes that lend elegance and lightness to the malt. Clear malt kicks things off before subtle notes of green banana and a tangy citrus variety join in. A hint of yeast rounds out the aromas; A fruity finish follows, with hints of tropical fruit, citrus zest and homemade custard.
AND UNION's wheat is brewed according to all the rules of traditional brewing, yet is very modern: The beer is clean, features a whole lot of creative hop notes and shows the multifaceted nature of the Bavarian classic.
