The IPA is brewed with the hop varieties Nugget, Calypso, El Dorado and Lemondrop. The latter in particular gives the beer its citrus-fresh character, which is almost reminiscent of lemon candy. The summery lemon sweetness is balanced by a rich hop spiciness.

Modesty is a word that is not in the repertoire of the exceptional Berlin brewers from Stone Brewing. In their creation Tangerine Express IPA, this is reflected in the list of ingredients: In addition to the fabulous five hop varieties Citra, Centennial, Sterling, Azacca and Mosaic, the brewers use fresh fruit puree of pineapple and tangerine. The result is a tropical, fruity cocktail that tastes wonderfully fresh of citrus and very subtle of pineapple.

Like all great stories in the craft beer business, Stone Brewing's begins with a passionate beer drinker brewing his own beer at home. Steve Wagner, Stone Brewing's very first brewmaster, gained his first brewing experience in his own kitchen, and it was a twist of fate when he met Greg Koch in 1989. A beer revolution The two beer aficionados drank countless bottles of beer together while making wild plans. One of those plans, to start their own brewery, persisted.
