Beer is the great passion of the team behind ÜberQuell, and you can see and taste it!

The far north is known for many things: delicious fish sandwiches, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, seagulls and its dry humor. But now Hamburg has a new attraction: Since 2017, you can find the small, creative microbrewery ÜberQuell Brauwerkstätten on St. Pauli. With handmade beer from real people for real people, pizza from the stone oven and a lot of heart and soul, the makers have been attracting countless beer fans ever since.

A matter of the heart

Even though the guys from St. Pauli have a reputation for being tough guys, there's one thing you can't write off from them: Passion. And that's what makes ÜberQuell a true highlight in Hamburg's culinary landscape. Axel Ohm and Patrick Rüther are the brilliant minds behind the project and the people who conceived and set up the microbrewery complete with brewpub and pizza pub. For the beer, they brought Tobias Hess on board. The master brewer from Bavaria has already swung the mash paddle all over the world and is now master of the kettle in Hamburg's newest gem. The guys have found the perfect location for their heart's project in Hamburg's Riverkasematten. The spacious grounds allow for several other projects in addition to the brewery, brewpub and small pizzeria. For example, there is a garden where herbs and all kinds of vegetables are grown as part of the urban gardening movement. There is so much heart and enthusiasm in every corner of the facility that you can't help but be infected by it!

Of course, one thing must not be forgotten in the abundance of good ideas and projects: the beer! And that, like seemingly everything Axel, Patrick and Tobias tackle, is fabulous! A stone's throw from the Brewpub taps, you can watch the brewer at work. In the microbrewery on St. Pauli, the beers for the brewery's own pub and changing beer specialties are brewed, space for the bottling line was no longer, so part of the range is brewed and bottled at friends of the guys in Traunstein. However, their great passion for beer is not only evident in their brewing products, you can also see it for yourself live on site. At the ÜberQuell brewery, you can not only buy beer, but also attend seminars and tours that revolve around our favorite beverage.
