Mocktails - Non-alcoholic cocktail recipes
Alcohol-free cocktails are no longer just sweet and sticky. Thanks to the constantly growing interest in alcohol-freecocktails, more and more creative recipes for mocktails, virgin cocktails or driver cocktails, as these non-alcoholic mixed drinks are also known, are being created to suit every taste.
Whether spicy, creamy, savory, herbal or refreshing fruit bombs - you'll find the right non-alcoholic drink for you in our mocktail recipes.
Overview of our non-alcoholic cocktails with recipe:
What is a mocktail?
The word mocktail is made up of the two English words "(to) mock" and "cocktail" and alludes to the fact that non-alcoholic cocktails would merely imitate the versions with alcohol. Over time, however, many independent cocktail recipes have been created, so there is no longer any question of imitation.
Classic alcohol-free cocktails
While the house bar should always be stocked with enough spirits for classic cocktails, high-proof spirits are of course not required for virgin cocktail recipes. However, there are also more and more non-alcoholic alternatives in the spirits sector that make mixing non-alcoholic cocktails easier. Alcohol-free gin, rum or whisky alternatives can be a real enrichment, especially for connoisseurs who love the taste of classic cocktails but don't want the revolutions!

The basic equipment for non-alcoholic cocktails
Just like for classic recipes, you need a similar basic range of juices, syrups and fillers for mocktails. However, it is often difficult to make the right choice, especially when starting out. We therefore answer the most important questions here.
Which juices for non-alcoholic cocktails?
Generally speaking, the fresher the juice, the better. That's why it's best to use direct juices (also known as mother juices) or home-pressed juices for virgin cocktails. You should avoid so-called fruit juice drinks or nectars, which generally only have a very low fruit content. Exception: fruit products that are so viscous that they could hardly be processed as direct juice. Banana nectar is therefore perfectly acceptable.

If you want to taste your way through the mocktail scene, you should definitely have the following types of juice to hand:
- Orange juice
- lemon juice
- lime juice
Bartenders also often use cranberry juice, pineapple juice and pomegranate juice. Good to know: The same basic juice ingredients also apply to cocktails with alcohol
Which syrup for non-alcoholic cocktails?
What is syrup and how is it different from juice, you ask? Syrups are fruit or herbal juices that have been preserved with sugar and are therefore generally much sweeter and thicker than direct juices. Their advantage: they last much longer than fresh juices, can be used in a variety of ways and sometimes act as a sweetener with a special kick. You can now fill your home bar with syrups in all colors and flavors.

If you want to make sure that the syrup only contains the ingredients you want to taste, you can of course make it yourself. Essentially, syrup is made in the following ratio: 1:1:0.5 - for example, 1 kg of fruit + 1 liter of water + 0.5 kg of sugar. The ratio should be adjusted depending on how sweet and/or watery the fruit used is. In some cases, this requires a little finesse - or the right recipe. In some recipes, citric acid is added to extend the shelf life of the syrups - and to spice up the taste a little.
Which fillers for non-alcoholic cocktails?
As with juices and syrups, the choice of suitable fillers basically depends on the recipe for the mocktail you want to mix. However, it is always a good idea to have the following fillers in stock:
- Tonic water(preferably classic, i.e. not too mild)
- Soda (i.e. water with sparkling water)
- cola
- Bitter lemon
- Ginger ale
If you are particularly fond of creamy cocktails, you should always have some cream, milk and coconut milk on hand.
